Patti Smith, Flea, Bob Weir & more at Pathway to Paris
Pathway to Paris – The Masonic Auditorium – San Francisco – Sept. 14, 2018
With extreme weather events very much in the news recently, the fourth annual Pathway to Paris concert at The Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco could not have been more timely. The event, which capped off the Global Climate Action Summit, aims to encourage cities to adopt the climate targets established in the Paris Agreement. Highlights included performances by Patti Smith (whose daughter, Jesse Paris Smith is a founder of Pathway to Paris), Bob Weir, Eric Burdon, and Flea, as well as a rousing “everyone on stage” show-ending rendition of Smith’s anthem “People Have the Power.” But the focus of the night was squarely on the cause with video, performance art, and speeches from a variety of activists, academics, and sympathetic politicians. Our photographer Aaron Rubin was there to capture the action.
